Adeline Diggs

Mrs. Adeline "Eyadie" Delores (Bowens) Diggs, 79, of Frederick, MD entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell Diggs and daughter of the late Charles and Edna Bowens. Eyadie was born on April 15th, 1935. Eyadie attended Frederick County schools and was a homemaker.

Eyadie was known for telling jokes and chewing "Big Red Gum". She enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends at Day Break. She also enjoyed watching western movies, taking walks, and listening to country music. Her sense of humor will truly be missed.

Surviving are:

Four devoted children: Delores Lyles, Robert Bowens, David Thompson, and Shirley Bowens.
Six sisters: Frances Allen, Peggy Diggs (Charles), Genevieve Price (Robert), Joyce McDonald, Darlene Williams (Patrick), and Cindy Bowens.

Eight brothers: Sherman Bowens, Roger Bowens, James Bowens, Michael Bowens, Carlton Scott (Vanessa), David Bowens, Randy Bowens (Cheryl), and Charles "Butch" Bowens.

A devoted granddaughter who cared for her: Sharnell Bowens (Jerry Smith) and 14 additional grandchildren: Larry Bowens (Joanette), Eric Bowens (Carmen), Roger Bohn, Lamonte Young (Kelly), Dante Bowens, Lyanita Layer (Tyrae), Lecole Bowens, Lamaika Bowens, Christina Barnes (David), Dominique Bowens, Angelica Bowens, Tikisha Thompson, Darius Thompson, and Darielle Thompson.

36 great-grandchildren: Sheka, Keyana, Jerry, Jerron, Jerrell, Brittany, Larry, Erica, Isaiah, Michelle, Devaun, Darius, Eric, Alea, Lamonte Jr., Elijah, Dante Jr., Naqula, Dinasha, Amaya, Tyrae Jr., Antonio, Sharday, Adriana, Jaden, Treyvon, Deshawn, Jaiana, Jazmine, Iiana, Alexis, Norris, Roman, Denium, Daeton, and Jaylen.

Eyadie also leaves to cherish her memory 2 aunts: Maebell Jones and Helen Carr; a son-in-law: Alonzia "Lonnie" Carpenter"; a sister-in-law Margaret Bowens; and devoted family members: Kim "Wendy" Cole, Phillip "Chucky" Diggs, and Kennea Diggs.

In addition to her husband and parents, Eyadie was preceded in death by her daughter - Doris Bowens; sisters: Jane Dorsey, Francis Rollins, and Erma Thompson; brothers: Maynard Bowens, Frank Bowens, Milton Bowens, Cliff Bowens, and Charles "Joe" Bowens; and great-grandson -Terrence Bowens.
