Hagerstown, Maryland
Anthony Darnell (Hard Rock) Myers answered God's call on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown, MD. He was born on October 12, 1972, to the late Emma Jean Myers and Harry (Rick) Barnes. He was educated in the Frederick County School System and graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School. Anthony worked at various locations in the Frederick community, including working for Bowie Transportation for several years.
His health started to fail him, and he spent months in the cardiac ICU at John Hopkins Hospital. He always had a joyful smile, and he did not let his illness take that from him. He was a friend to many in the community and was a joy to all his family. He lived off and on with his grandparents, George and Mary Barnes, during his younger years, and they loved each other dearly. He loved all his family and he kept in touch with all of them.
Anthony was a fun-loving, good-hearted guy, and he had many friends who thought the world of him and will deeply miss him. Hard Rock's sudden passing was a shock to all of us and he is truly going to be missed, but we'll keep his smile and his laughter in our hearts forever.
He leaves to cherish his memory his: dad, Harry (Rick) Barnes; daughter, Diamond; fiance, Betsy Powell; adopted sons, Dontae and AJ Myers; sisters; Victoria Myers, Tammy Hollaway, Tamico Swann-Keene, Raygan Thorne (Barnes), Christina Conner (Hackney), Melissa Biggus, and Veronica Romine (Harris); brothers, Tyrae Atkins, Charles Hollaway, Timmy Thompson, Karl Biggus, Harry S. Barnes, Jr (Lil Rickie), and Cory Harman; aunts, Pauline (Bates) Onley (Donald), Dorothea Bowie (Ellsworth), Peggy Bowie (Wickie), Delisha Dorsey, Judy Barnes, and Linda Barnes; uncles, David Barnes and Daniel (Pat) Barnes; nephew, Timmy Cosley; nieces, Ashley Myers and Toya Hoes; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his loving mother Emma Jean Myers, grandparents, George and Mary Barnes and Preston and Ella Dorsey; uncle, George Barnes Jr.; and cousins, Denise Thompson, Mark Barnes, Terrance Watts, and Markkus Barnes.
Anthony, you are no longer with us physically, but you will always remain with us in spirit; take your rest, and we shall see you in the morning!
