Bernard L. Roberts, 76, of Frederick, MD, passed away on January 9, 2022, at Vindobona Nursing Home due to an unexpected heart related illness. He was born August 6, 1945, to the late Effie Mabell and Bernard Matthew Roberts of Libertytown, Maryland. \r\n\r\nAs a youth he was an altar boy at St. Peters Catholic Church in Libertytown, Maryland. Bernard attended Linganore High School. He was employed at Gowen's Motor Service (contractors for the U.S. postal service) for 53 years and retired in 2020. Until his illness took over, Bernard continued working part time. He enjoyed drag racing, tractor pulls, mechanical work, motorcycles, and vacationing in Florida. \r\n\r\nSurviving to carry on his memory is his: wife, Mary A. Roberts; grandsons, Jontez Roberts and Kevin B. Roberts, Jr.; stepdaughter, Shelia Bowins; four sisters, Mary L. Ambush, Hallie M. Sheffer, Sherri M. Roberts(Rosco), and Cynthia A. Morris(Perry); lifetime friend, Bruce Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. \r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his: parents, Effie Mabell Roberts and Bernard Matthew Roberts; son, Kevin B. Roberts, Sr.; brother, Charles W. Roberts; sisters, Beverly A. Snowden and Mary A. Bowins; brothers-in-law, John Sheffer and Donald R. Bowins; sisters-in-law, Delores Harris and Georgina Whiten; niece, Lisa R. Bowins-Wyche; nephews, Kenneth W. Roberts and Bruce P. Harris; great-nephew, Wydell Roberts; and parents-in-law, Alice M. Bowins and George D. Bowins.
