Benjamin George Howard, 80, of Temple Hills, Maryland, after a courageous fight with cancer, peacefully met his maker on May 5, 2014, at the Collingswood Nursing Home in Rockville, Maryland. \n \nBorn May 28, 1933, in Southern Maryland to Liza Adams, he leaves behind: a son Benjamin; two daughters, Janel and Patricia; a sister Mary Washington; a brother-in-law, Albert Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren who all loved and will miss him dearly.\n \nAs kids growing up dad was always there for us through the good and the bad. He never judged us or had a bad thing to say even when we deserved it. His life was not always peaches and cream, but he always taught us to live like there was no tomorrow and that's what he did. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. In all our years of knowing our father we have never seen him turn a person away young or old who needed help. If he had a house then you had a house. If he had a box to sleep in, then you had a box to sleep in. His life mirrored the quote, "What's mine is yours." This day we all have lost a dad, a son, a brother, a best friend and a child of God, but we have all gained a lifelong memory of a great man.
