Betty Jane Weedon

Betty Jane Weedon of Frederick, MD, passed away Sept. 3, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Maurice Weedon for 17 years. Born on Sept. 9, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mable Henderson.

Betty graduated from Brunswick High School and was an active member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church for many years where she became an ordained minister. Betty later joined St. Marks Apostolic Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, minister, soloist, and event coordinator.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: 2 daughters, Devon Henderson-Perry and Mable Henderson; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers; 2 sisters; 3 aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held Fri., Sept. 12, 2014 at Thomas Tabernacle, 517 S. Market St., Frederick, MD. The wake is at 10 a.m. and funeral is 11 a.m. Elder Roy Ambush officiating. The interment will be held at Ceres Bethel AME Church Cemetery in Burkittsville, MD.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Mable Henderson.
