Deacon Charles "Junie" Davis Obituary (1931

Deacon Charles Edward "Junie" Davis, Sr., age 89, of 464 Park Place, Hagerstown, MD departed this life on February 17, 2020 at the home of his son, Charles Davis Jr. of Hagerstown, MD. Junie attended North Street School and enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country. He retired from the federal government where his last employment was on base at Fort Richie, MD. He was an ordained deacon in the King's Apostle Church of God and served in his local church. For many years, he was the official bus driver for the church, driving from the Maryland area to Washington, DC, Virginia and West Virginia. He served under Bishop Walter E. Campher, Elder Joe Fowlkes, Elder Beulah Conwell, and Bishop Derrick Kee. He was also a faithful follower of Elder Darrin Mency on his ministry trips. Junie leaves to mourn his: two sons, Charles Davis Jr. (wife Theresa) and Carlton Davis of Hagerstown; sister, Ilene Smith of Hagerstown; 3 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 3 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Pastors Nathan and Imogene Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews and personal friends. He was preceded in death by his: loving wife, Jean Davis; youngest son, Curtis Davis; parents, Benjamin and Emma Davis; 4 brothers, Donald, Melvin, Pete, and Gerald Davis; and 2 sisters, Phyllis Fowlkes and Ruthann Monroe.
