Charles Harris

Mr. Charles Cromwell Harris, Jr., 85, of Frederick, MD transitioned to be with our heavenly father on April 8, 2024 at his home. Born on March 12, 1939, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Cromwell Harris, Sr. and Mary Catherine Ambush Harris. He was the beloved husband of Alys Thomas Harris for 47 Years.

Charles graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. He later joined the United States Army serving for 7 years and was honorably discharged. He worked at Sears in Gaithersburg, MD, retiring after 30 years of employment. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Frederick, MD. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports on TV.

He leaves to cherish his memory his: wife, Alys Harris; daughter, Doreen Harris Hall (Pete), Owing Mills; grand fur-baby, Marley Hall; brother, David Harris (Gloria), Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Elaine Harris Watts, Frederick, MD, and Carolyn Harris Irick, Philadelphia, PA; former wife, Anita Carroll Harris; dedicated friends, Dennis Sewell, Eric Dorsey, Randolph Harris, Robert Disney, and Ernest King; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his: sister, Anna Catherine Harris; and brothers, John Douglas Harris and Howard Harris, Sr.
