Dagmar Carter Obituary (1947

Mrs. Dagmar Crista Carter, lovingly known as "Daggie" of Martinsburg, WV, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at City Hospital, Martinsburg, WV. Born July 27, 1947 in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Arno Kruger and Hilda Kruger.Dagmar was the wife of 40 years to Walter A. Carter, Sr. She was employed in a variety of positions including, Dental Hygienist, Department of Justice, Westat, as well as several administrative positions. In 1975 she earned an X-Ray Technician Certification.Dagmar was a member of the South End Baptist Church of Frederick, MD where she was baptized in 1997.Her most special achievement was successfully raising her two sons.She was a very proud grandmother to 3 grandchildren.Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, traveling and she was an avid animal lover. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons, Thomas S. Carter and his wife Kim of Easton, MD and Mark A. Carter of Poolsville, MD; 2 step children, Vickie Carter of Laurel, MD and Walter A. Carter Jr. of Damascus, MD; three grandchildren; one sister, Monika Zabel and her husband Lutz of Stuttgart, Germany; one brother, Peter Kruger and his wife Rosi, of Stuttgart, Germany; her closest friend, Pamela D. Rampersaud of Martinsburg, WV and a host of nieces and nephews.
