Darrell Martin

Darrell Lee Martin, 61, a lifelong resident of Frederick, MD passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born on January 28, 1960, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Bessie Martin and Arnold Martin, Sr.

Darrell is survived by his: three sons, Darrell "BJ" Martin (Tiffany), Domonick Martin, and Joshua Martin; his four grandsons, Quashawn Myers, Jaden Martin, Keyon Martin, and Darrell Martin; four granddaughters, Kadeja Gennes, Lanaia Martin, Jasmine Martin, and Zoey Martin. Darrell is also survived by his nine sisters, Balinda Benjamin (Ishom), Deborah Rollins (Larry), Virginia Tynes, Sheila Zanders (Steven), Kimberly Bryant (Robert), Tonya Bell (Raymond), Yolanda Puller, Fara Martin, Dawn Martin, and Karen Martin; two brothers, Arnold Martin, Jr (Rosalind) and Craig Carrington. Also, surviving is an aunt, Mabel Dove, and an uncle, Daniel Fisher (Linda), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his stepfather, Thurston Bowie, his beloved sister, April Duvall, brother Derrick Martin and stepbrother, Thurston Bowie, Jr.

Darrell enjoyed fishing with his sons, working on cars, and spending time with his family and friends. We praise God for the life of Darrel Lee Martin. The Martin's would like to thank the staff at Way Station, Frederick Memorial Hospital, and Hospice for their care, support, and kindness. The family of Darrell Lee Martin wishes to express our sincere thanks for the prayers and other expressions of love during our time of bereavement. May God richly bless all of you.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, 110 W. South St. Frederick, MD with a public viewing at 9:30 AM, family hour at 10 AM, and funeral at 11 AM. Pastor Michael Norris will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Frederick.
