David Rey Magloire

–

Frederick, Maryland

David Rey Magloire, age 12, went home to be with Christ the 18th day of June 2021. David's genius manifested from the very beginning starting with learning to read at the early age of 3. He had a natural gift for learning and building and would read about chemistry, calculus, and computers. He enjoyed coding and had an amazing imagination, often coming up with ideas and schemes that would go over his parents' heads. Minecraft and Fortnite were his favorite pastimes to the point he decided to create his own YouTube channel called GoodBadish where he would game for others' entertainment.

At the age of 6, David was baptized at Harvest Chapel. When asked why he wanted to be baptized, he responded, "I want a new life." With his newfound faith, he would pray for any stranger that appeared to need healing. He was quick to lay hands on people no matter where he was. Combining his faith and childlike adventure, David had the idea to create a video game based on his favorite book of the Bible, Revelation. He loved the idea of massive angels in war with fire breathing dragons, multi-headed beasts, swords, and justice. Instead of a video game, he started writing books that mimicked this biblical theme. This included "The Right Hand Warriors" and "The Diary of Jonathan Warlock" where he thoughtfully crafted creatures, characters, and a story-line that conveyed his love for battle and strong morals.

As a brother he naturally would pick little fights with his younger sister, Izzy. They would wrestle until someone cried, usually her. He would also help her with her math work and read aloud to her. Anyone who knows David would know he was not one for hugs and kisses. He made a surprising exception to his no-touching rule with the birth of his baby brother, Jonathan Paul (JP). JP has received the most hugs and kisses from David than any other member of the family. Jacob was his protector, partner in crime, and his competition. More than that, David and Jacob were best friends. Doing everything together, people thought they were twins and could hardly tell them apart until Jacob hit his growth spurt.

We will miss his sarcastic humor at family nights, silly dancing first thing in the morning, half-way hugs, and outlandish ideas. He is cherished by many friends in the homeschool community, his neighborhood "the Cattail Kids," his church community, and his family.

David leaves behind his: parents; Matthew and Jazzmine Magloire; siblings, Jacob (age 13), Isabell (age 7) and Jonathan (6 months old); three grandparents; five aunts; six uncles; and eighteen cousins. This includes: Grandparents Wendy and Rey Magloire; Aunt Deborah Fowler with children, Devin, Dominic and Emma Fowler; Uncle Jesse Magloire and his son Jesse Magloire Jr.; Uncle Jason Magloire and children Dakota and Theodore Magloire; Uncle Gabriel and Aunt Melissa Magloire with their children Naomi and Mason Magloire; Aunt Nicole Magloire and Uncle Patrick Casey; Uncle Corey Magloire; Grandmother Laurenda (Winnie) Frye; Aunt Chanika (Nickie) Montgomery with children Cheyenne Webb, Paris Anderson and London and Lance McComb; Uncle Rodney (Roc) Moulton, Jr. with daughter Maya Quinn; Aunt Lauroda (Melody) Moulton with children Emani, Djimon, Leah and Olivia Tucker; and a host of extended family and friends.
