On Sunday May 17, 2020, David Howard Smith Jr. was called to his final resting place to be with his Lord. David Howard Smith Jr. was born July 13, 1966 to the late David Howard Smith Sr. and late Grace D. Ross in Washington, D.C.\r\n\r\nDavid was educated in the D.C. Public School System. He graduated from Anacostia High School and later furthered his education at The Trade School of Engineering. David was employed at Grady Management in Silver Spring, MD., where he worked for 20 + years.\r\nDavid Smith accepted Christ at Zion Church in Landover, MD where he served and remained faithful and strong until the Lord called him home. He was blessed and truly loved the Lord. Among his many interests was a love for DC's GO-GO Band Rare Essence.\r\n\r\nDavid was a vibrant and lively person so full of life, loved to have fun and was a jokester. He enjoyed shopping and traveling. Despite being born and raised in the nation's capital, David was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. \r\n\r\nDavid Howard Smith Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his: two children, Keirra Holmes-Jones of Washington, D.C. and David Howard Smith, III of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Kautious Jones and Rahsaan Holmes; three sisters, Marcia Whitehead, Tonya Hines and Crystal Hines; three brothers, Mark Hines, Eric Buckner and Cornelius Smith; a host of nieces and nephews; his ride or die best friend, Darren Gladden; and other loving relatives and friends.\r\n\r\n\r\n"Be Encouraged"\r\n"Be encouraged no matter what's going on,\r\nHe'll make it alright, but you gotta stay strong."
