Denise Michele Thompson

Denise Michele Thompson (Nissie) answered God's call suddenly at her home on Saturday, August 17, 2019. She was born in Frederick, MD on August 13, 1959 to the late Bernice Jackson and William (Mickie) Liason. She was the wife of the late Steven Thompson.

She attended school in Frederick County and graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School. Over the years she worked at various jobs; her last employment was for Bowie Transportation, a job that she loved and was pleased to be a part of.

She was a member of Emmanuel Temple of Praise Church. She gave her life to the Lord and was not ashamed to tell anyone about the goodness of the Lord and what he had done (and continued to do) in her life.

Nissie loved her "girls" and she really loved her grandchildren; they were her new loves, her new reason for living. She was a friend second to none. If you were blessed to call her friend, you were better than blessed and there was nothing she wouldn't do for you. She loved Facebook; and she was our "Selfie Queen," leaving us many pictures to add to our list of memories. Nissie was happy; she loved her life and she embraced it every day. She touched so many lives. Her passing has left so many of us saying, "What are we going to do without her?" But we know that God makes no mistakes so we'll cherish every moment that He allowed her to be in our presence; and we will hold each memory in our hearts until we meet again.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Trukisha (Kisha) Bussey (Harold) and LaSharna (Sharna) Jackson; five grandchildren, Zaire Spencer, Zaivera Bussey, Richard Spencer III, Zaniah Bussey, and Kyle Twyan, Jr; three sisters, Anna Cartnail Jones (Glenard), Charlene Liason and Sharnel Strait (Thomas); six brothers, Wayne Jackson, Michael Jackson, Brent Jackson, Orlando (Lance) Liason, Anthony Liason, and Larry Liason; very special aunt, Carolyn Glenn; three special aunts, Peggy Bowie (Wickie), Judy Barnes and Linda Barnes, three special uncles, David Barnes, Rick Barnes and Pat Barnes; a host of nieces nephews and friends; special friends, Mary Lake, Michael Burley, Donald Weedon, and Lisa (Hula) Kesteven; and devoted best friend and cousin, Marcia Patterson, who is also Kisha and Sharna's godmother.

Besides her parents and husband, Nissie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kisharn Thompson, and brother, Timothy Jackson.
