Donald E. Lyles

Donald Eugene Lyles, Sr., 75 years young, went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2017 at the Genesis Rehabilitation Center, Silver Spring, MD. Born October 20, 1941, at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD, to the late Maulene Pryor; and the late Gilbert Lyles and Margret Snowden Lyles of Dorseytown, MD. He was a past member of Dorsey Christian Chapel, New London (New Market, MD).

Donald attended the Frederick County Public Schools. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and was a dedicated Ford truck Man. He retired from the City of Rockville after 20 years of services and the Union President for AFL, CI0 at City of Rockville. Donald retired from Frederick County as a Transit truck driver after 14 years of services. He was a cement finisher by trade.

Donald served as a Past Master of Evening Star Lodge 84 then PM James E Sewart Lodge 49. He was a member of Western MD Consistency Lodge #279, District Coordinator of District #2 KOP, and a member of Old Lincoln High Alumni Association, Frederick, MD.

He is survived by his former wife, Mildred Dorsey Lyles, Mt. Airy; three children, Patricia Lyles and Donald Lyles, Jr., all of Mt. Airy and Michael Lyles, Frederick; 8 loving grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.Special thanks to Stan Chase for being there for our Dad. He was preceded in death by his son, Tyrone Lyles; and daughters-in-law, Barbara Lewis and Karen Lyles.

Internment will be held privately at Woodville Cemetery, Mount Airy.
