Eleanor Rogers-Smith, age 90, of Frederick Maryland, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Vindabona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.\n\nEleanor was born August 11, 1932 in Melrose Park, Illinois, daughter of the late Harold and Emma Garman. She is pre-deceased by her husband Clifford Smith. She was a loving mother of her sons David McNeely, Gene Rogers and Lorin Rogers; cherished grandmother of four and great-grandmother of ten.\n\nEleanor was active and interested in exploring. This included her desire to move all around the country. Her journey started in Chicago, Illinois and took her to California, Montana, Florida, Kentucky, and Virginia until coming to Frederick, Maryland. Being active included loving to take walks come rain or shine. She walked everywhere she could, and she always took great pride in walking up and down the stairs. Eleanor was an avid reader and read every day. Whether it was a hardcover book or a book on her Kindle, she was always pursuing her next great interest.\n\nHer grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great pride and joy. Eleanor is survived by her son, David McNeely, 4 grandchildren (Justin, Adrian, Jessica and Tina) and 10 great grandchildren (Patrick, Gabriel, Ally, Adalyn, Lucy, Parker, Sidney, Vadym, Kesenia, Ian, Lael and Zoe).\n\nA family celebration of life will be in Spring 2023 before she leaves for her final resting place in Danville Kentucky (Danville Memorial Gardens) to lie beside her husband Clifford Smith and her son Lorin Rogers.
