Elias "Dusty" Thomas Obituary (1931

Mr. Elias "Dusty" (Bubba) Thomas, 83, of Frederick, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Wed., Sept. 3, 2014. He was born on May 25, 1931, to the late Frank E. and Carrie L. Thomas. Dusty attended Lincoln High School where he played basketball. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from June 19, 1948 to Aug. 28, 1959. He worked for American Optical, Fedders Company, and the Frederick Cab Company. He loved to dance, play cards, and family board games. He was also a loyal Ravens fan. Mr. Thomas leaves to cherish his memories: brother, Clyde Thomas of Frederick, MD; sister, Pastor Mildred Beard of Baltimore, MD; special friends, Luisa Cabrera, Veta Weedon, Alice Smith, and Bernice Green; devoted niece, Tranessa Snowden; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his: sisters, Vinnie M. Hoy, Minnie M. Davis, Catherine Green, and Lillian and Virginia Thomas; brothers, Frank E. and John Thomas; and nephew, James W. Thomas Sr. Services will be held, Sat., Sept. 13, 2014, at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South St., Frederick, MD. The wake is at 10 a.m. and the funeral service is at 11 a.m.
