Elise Wars

ELISE RACHELE WARS, age 40, of Hagerstown, MD, departed this life on Weds., Nov. 16, 2022. Elise was born on Sept. 24, 1982, in Frederick, MD. She was the daughter of Elaine Wars Overs, Timothy U. Overs, and Ralph C. Swann (biological father).

Elise was educated in the Frederick County Public School system and later went on to attend classes at FCC. Elise loved pampering herself, including getting her nails done and studying to become a nail tech. Elise was exceptionally gifted in math and was known for her ability to recall dates and random bits of information. She was extremely intelligent and loved to correct any grammatical errors she saw or heard. She liked to be challenged academically and grew bored with the simple and mundane.

Elise's proudest moment was becoming a mom, when she gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Khori Amore' Ashton. Elise started her spiritual journey at Asbury United Methodist Church in Frederick, MD. She was known for being very vocal and made sure she was heard. Even in the hardest of times, she loved her family and her family loved her.

Elise leaves to cherish her memory: her grandmother, Mary Jane Overs; stepsister, Sheree Cleckley; uncles, Charles R. Wars, Jr. (Kathleen), E. Leakins Wars, Wayne W. Wars (Pamela), Byron E. Foreman, Sr.(Marilyn), and Darrell (Patricia); aunts, Constance Whims, Phyllis Weedon, Carol Swann, Bonnie Swann, Kathy Swann, Diane Susie Overs, Wanda Mannix, Marcy Fletcher, Delores Pam, and Jonita Rollins; godparents, Charles and Kathleen Wars and Shelby Carmon; godbrother, Dashauan Ambush; close family member, Alta Kraft; childhood friends, Teesha Carmon, Keisha Thomas, and Megan Shankle; and lifelong friends, Priscilla Dorsey, Annette Brooks, and Erica Gales. She also had very special relationships with numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Swann Sr., Katherine B. Swann, and Russell Overs, Sr.; uncles, Thomas B. Foreman, Sr., David Carter, and Russell Overs, Jr.; aunts, Edith W. Thompson, Erminie R. Wars, Ronnelle Wars (aka Lovie), and Alcyone Carter Butts; and godmother, Paula Ambush

KHORI AMORE' ASHTON, age 4, of Hagerstown, MD, went home to heaven on Weds., Nov. 16, 2022. She was born on Sept. 16, 2018, in Frederick, MD. She was the daughter of Elise Rachele Wars, Kevin Ashton, Jr., and surrogate father, Antoine Marvin Reed, Jr.

Khori attended Sharizma Hill home daycare, Centennial Early Learning Center and Head Start of Washington County Elgin Station. Khori or "Moo," as her mother affectionately called her, enjoyed painting , going to the park, walking in kitten heels, dancing, smiling, and taking pictures. Khori was a bright, energetic, smart, funny, silly, and kind little girl. She loved animals, was empathetic, and always shared her toys with others. Khori was curious about everything she saw. She enjoyed learning and experiencing new things.

Khori was beloved by all her family and friends. Her family would like to thank Raya Wars for the love, compassion, and care for Khori. She will be sorely and desperately missed by all those who loved her. She was a light in a very dark world and was gone too soon. She now rests in the arms of God.
