Frankie Donald Johnson Obituary (1951

Frankie Donald Johnson of Flint Hill Road, Adamstown, MD, departed this life and went to eternal rest on January 17, 2015. Born on January 22, 1951, he was the son of RoseLee Johnson Jackson and John Lee. Frankie was a graduate of Frederick High School. He retired from Geico Insurance Company, where he worked for many years in the Payroll Department. Frankie had a passion for cars and loved the color yellow, thus the yellow Corvette. He was an original member of the Gaithersburg Corvette Club. In his younger years he was a very good artist and loved painting landscapes. He played saxophone and his favorite musical artist was Jimmy Hendrix. Frankie did not join, but was always affiliated with Buckeystown United Methodist Church. Under the leadership of Pastor Charles Roberts, he gave his life to Christ upon the death of his friend Addison Layer. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Chakesha Johnson of NC; brother, Richard Johnson and wife Mary (Travis, Nicholas, and Anthony) of Frederick, MD; sisters, Cheryl Moore and husband Joseph (Jovia and Joseph Jr.) of Richmond, VA, Kimberly Cosby (Candice, Erin, and Garrett) of Prince Georges County, MD; uncle, Douglas Scott and friend Phyllis Weedon (Charles) of Frederick, MD; loyal cousin, Carol Proctor (Cheryl and Raymond) of Frederick, MD; former wife, Linda Johnson Broom; stepdaughters, Sabrina Hoy (Ciara and Brookelyn), Tameka Thompson (Akeira and Aniss) all of Frederick, MD; and many other relatives and lifelong friends. Frankie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Virgie Scott; uncles, William Johnson and Haywood Barnes; and aunt, Mildred Barnes. Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD. Public viewing will be at 9 a.m., family will receive friends at 10 a.m. and the funeral will begin at 11 a.m.
