GARY ALBERT 'GREASE' FOREMAN\rFREDERICK, MARYLAND, APRIL 13, 1952 ~ the world was forever changed, as Gary Albert (Grease) Foreman triumphed into our lives.He was the son of Janet C. Foreman and the late Francis H. Foreman Sr.The Almighty called Gary home on May 29, 2012.\r\rGary was a warm, well liked, friendly, fun loving and spiritual man.He earned his nickname 'Grease' because he loved to tinker with cars andanything electronic.He was the 'handyman' of the Foreman household.An excellent artist, he loved to sketch and paint. Gary befriended a well-known photographer and movie producer, the late Gordon Parks whom became his mentor.Of course, his favorite pastime was relaxing in his garage listening to jazz and working on projects.Gary was a star athlete at Fredrick High School and he was recognized for playing basketball, track, and football.Following graduation Gary was awarded an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Miami and he excelled, not only in football, but in life skills. \r\rGary worked for the Department of Energy, Germantown, MD in the late 1970s and later moved to Minnesota where he worked for Control Data for ten years.Lead by his passion for encouraging and uplifting young adults, he joined the Department of Corrections for Hennepin, MN and became a Juvenile Probation Officer.His dedication and commitment earned the love and respect of his co-workers and especially the young adults he served.He always said, 'If I can get one young person going in the right direction, that will be a great accomplishment.'\r\rAlthough he lived in Minnesota, Gary maintained strong ties with his lifelong friends in theFrederick community. During his adult years he developed a strong spiritual faith.He loved reading his bible and was well versed in the scriptures.\r\rSurviving to cherish his memories, in addition to his mother, is one son, Eric Whisner (Vixen), Walkersville, MD;two grandsons, Gabriel and Abram, Walkersville, MD;twobrothers, Francis H. Foreman Jr. (Val) of Gaithersburg, MD and Walter E. Foreman, Eden Prairie, MN; one sister, Shelley Foreman-Draper, Greenbelt, MD; one uncle, Walter Sewell, Middletown, MD; three nephews, Steven Draper, Mesa, AZ, Jamal Foreman, Omaha, NE and Anthony Foreman, Eden Prairie, MN;two nieces,Tiana Dior (David), Lincoln, NE and Andrea Dohmen, Hamilton, MN; two great nephews Tyson Draper and DavidDior Jr;two great nieces, Soliel and Ceil Foreman.Also surviving Gary is his companion and best friend, Pure Alaearph, St. Paul, MN.\t \rGary was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mae Hurd Sewell and Walter Sewell; paternal grandparents Nannie Henderson Foreman and John Foreman; and two aunts, Betty L. Davis and Phyllis M. Dyson.
