George Colton Young Jr., also known as Big G, departed this life on Saturday January 7, 2023. He was born on December 18, 1962, to George Colton Young Sr. and F.H. Elizabeth Young in Rockville, MD. He attended Montgomery County Public Schools.
Big G, a Stonestreet Soldier and Lincoln Park's best neighborhood mechanic, could lift cars with his hands. He started working on cars at 15 years old with his late Uncle Jimmy Brunner and his love of cars grew from there. He loved working on cars, trucks and anything with a motor. He along with his late brother, Patrick Young and his young nephew, Samuel Carter Jr. built drag racing cars together. He was a master with a manual and/or automatic engine.
At the age of 18 he began driving dump trucks for Carter & Carter, a business started by his late sister, Carolyn Carter and her husband Samuel Carter Sr.
Since their passing he continued to be a big part of the crew for his nephew's drag racing career and driving dump trucks for multiple owners starting with Timmy Griffith, Mike Stanley Asphalt and the latest being Omar Bernard.
George Junior loved his family and friends. He always was willing to help with a smile on his face and a slick word to say to loved ones and friends. He enjoyed watching Drag Racing and football. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins (Commanders).
He leaves many loved ones to cherish his precious memories: his son DaKota Colton Nation; his eldest sister Elizabeth Scott; a brother-in- law Frank Wade; a devoted niece Christal Scott; nephew, Samuel Carter Jr., and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
George Junior, Junior, Uncle George, Big G, you will never be forgotten, rest easy now!
Love,
Your Family
