Jackie Barnes

Jackie Barnes, age 84, was born December 17, 1938 and raised in Nashville, North Carolina.

In 1956, Jackie married her high school sweetheart, Edward Lee Jones Sr. and moved to Brooklyn, New York. Within this union six children were born. As her husband pursued his career in the military, Jackie broadens her career in modeling, and as a social worker in New York City. Her love for her family was only surpassed by her love for life itself.

She leaves to mourn her husband David Barnes, sister Mary O. Evans and brother Johnnie Williams (Trica), sons Edward Lee Jones Jr. and Aaron J. Jones; daughters Cathy D. Jones-Ferrer, Renee Patterson (Toney) and Rosland Jones. Jackie also leaves behind twenty grandchildren, a host of great grands, and great-great grands. She also leaves behind nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents Alice Nellie Williams and Mack Evans, sister Catherine Evans, brother Paul Evans and daughter Gloria Jones-Lee.

She will be missed by many, and her joy, smile, and laughter will continue to live in our hearts forever.

A funeral service is being planned.
