On Wednesday February 17th, 2021, Our Heavenly Father in his infinity wisdom chose to take home our beloved Jacqueline Barbara Greene, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, to a place of Heavenly rest. Jacqueline lovely called Jackie was born on February 3, 1938, in Washington, DC to the late Cleve & Annie Darby. Jacqueline attended the DC Public School System and was a graduate of Cardozo High School. After high school Jacqueline attended Catholic University for two years. \r\n\r\nOn February 2, 1957, she married James Edward Greene, and shared five children, Sheila Dickerson, the late James Greene II, Kevin Greene, Shira Kimble and Patrick Greene. \r\n\r\nJackie's first real opportunity in the workforce was working at Woodard & Lothrop as a Sale Associate, and then she was promoted to Manager in different departments for several years until the company went out of business. Then she took on a new challenge of working for Blockbusters, Sugar Factory, Soft Spikes, and Adventist Home Health as an Office Manager of the CNA's. She loved working and supporting others. \r\n\r\nJackie loved working and supporting others with her management skills diligently serving in the retail business. \r\n\r\nJackie received Christ as a young child and later recommitted herself attending Hope Christian church with her daughter Sheila and family. In 2006 Jackie moved to Kentucky to be closer to her sister Linda while in Kentucky she enjoyed attending Historic St. Paul AME Church where she attended faithfully. \r\n\r\nJackie's favorite pass-time was spending time with her 5 sisters. Jackie loved traveling with her sisters and grandchildren. \r\n\r\nJackie enjoyed mystery movies, crossword puzzles and word searches. She also had a love for reading and sewing. \r\n\r\nJackie leaves to cherish in her loving memory; two daughters, Sheila Dickerson and Shira Kimble (David); two sons, Kevin Greene and Patrick Greene. Jackie joins her oldest son, the late James Greene II. Jackie was blessed to have 17 grandchildren; Austin Dickerson, Tamar Dickerson, Christina Dickerson, James Greene III, Melonique Rich, Fatou Greene-Collins, Amina Greene, Souleymane Greene, Jameela Greene, Michael Greene, Sherrece Greene, Kevin J. Greene, the late Andrew Holmes, Kashawna Holmes- Smith, Bryan Benjamin, Patrice Greene & Kyanna Greene and a host of great grandchildren. Jackie also leaves to cherish two sisters, Patricia Brown and Sarah Brown and one Aunt, Shirley Wilfork and one Uncle James McRennon and host of Friends.
