James Franklin Gray SR., 87 years old of Frederick Maryland "affectionately known as Frank", departed this life on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. James (Frank) was born on July 12, 1933, in Frederick Maryland. He was the son of the late Alfred Gray SR, and Florence Gray. \r\n\r\nFrank was happily united in holy matrimony to Mary L. Gray, who preceded him in death, for over 45 years. The couple was blessed with six beautiful children. He grew up in a large family with four sisters and four brothers. He was a life-long resident of Frederick, MD. \r\n\r\nJames is survived by his six children: James F. Gray Jr., Earnest, Steven, Anthony, Stacey, and Michael Gray. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. One sister; Doris Byrd, two brothers Alphonso (Betty) Gray, and Paul (Toni) Gray all of Frederick Maryland, two brothers-in-law's; John Gaither and William (Arlene) Snowden and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends including his special friend; Debbie Keeney.\r\n\r\nJames was preceded in death by his siblings: oldest brother Pastor Alford H. Gray Jr, sisters; Emmanora Sewell, Etta Casey, Shirley Fowler, and his brother; Auburn Gray. \r\n\r\nFrank will be greatly missed and forever remembered for his wonderful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, ridiculous jokes, stories, and unconditional love that he had for all. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find peace in knowing that he is in heaven watching over us all.
