Jermaine Langley Hill Obituary (1998

Jermaine Langley Hill, Jr., better known as Jay (and Broskii in PA), was born on Oct. 16, 1998, in Frederick, MD. The first born son of Jermaine Hill Sr. (Stephanie) of Frederick, MD, and only son of Lisa Scott of Franklin, VA, Jay was raised by his grandmother, Peggy Hill, whom he affectionately called "Jan-Jan." Jay was a member of Mount Zion AME Church in Knoxville, MD under the leadership of the late Rev. Richard Dyson. In 2016, he graduated from Southwest High School in Hanover, PA. Those who really knew Jay, knew that his game was basketball. He lived on the court inside and out and would challenge you anytime. His favorite words were, "I have no fear, big or small, just bring it." He really loved that game and excelled at it. Jay also loved rapping and singing; he was known for going to the studio and always asking for $5. Under the name "JMX," Jay made many tapes and insisted that his Jan-Jan listen to all of them. All she could say was, "Wow, it would really sound good if you cleaned them up." He always responded that she should "get with the 2017s and not the 60s." He enjoyed playing the drums at Mt. Zion Church from time to time. Jay also took pleasure in tinkering with phones and was known for always borrowing then losing the chargers. Jay was known for changing clothes two or three times a day, matching to a tee and doing no laundry. Jay touched many lives young and old. Most of all, Jay enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents and grandmother, Jay is survived by: 5 sisters, Aliyah Smith, Jada Smith and Alyssa Smith of NC, and Re'naya Hill and Amya Hill of York, PA; brother, Ja'mir Hill of York, PA; adopted brother, Michael Raiford of Orlando, FL; grandparents, Mark and Linda Davis of Arlington, TX, James "Rocky" Hill of Frederick, MD, and Randolph Scott of Franklin, VA; great grandmother, Ruth "Geraldine" Duckett of Frederick, MD; very special cousins, Derwin "DJ" Hill Jr., Kenny Hill, and Kendra Hill of Frederick, MD; godfather, Derwin Hill Sr. (Uncle D) of Orlando, FL; devoted friends and family members, Mya Wiley, Malik Worrell, Mr. and Mrs. Rickey Hartsock, BCWB Family (Ray Whiten), Rosa Rivera, and Janice Hill (aunt); and so many uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends that can't all be named but were all very special in his life.
