Joy Clarice Brown, 60, of Frederick, left to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Born April 5, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence M. and Cora L. Brown. \n\nJoy lived her entire life in Frederick and graduated from Frederick High School in 1976. She worked at State Farm Insurance Company, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, and various other companies.\n\nJoy loved spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family. Her smile and distinctive laugh would light up any room. Joy had a great love for shopping and rarely missed a sale. She had a great sense of style and was rarely seen without her hair and nails done, and of course, always dressed in orange.\n\nJoy leaves to mourn her passing: her devoted son. Ramont E. Scott, Sr. (April); lifelong companion. Raymond L. Scott; three grandchildren, Ramont "RJ" Scott, Jr., Jada Scott, and Mikayla Bolden; brothers, Larry Brown (Cheryl), Lawrence Brown Jr. (Diane), and Terry Brown (Natalie); nephew and nieces, Sean Brown, Andrea Brown, Cortney Brown and Shallon Brown; and a host of extended family and friends. \n\nIn addition to her parents, Joy is preceded in death by: a nephew, Lawrence Brown, III.\n\nServices will be held at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick MD, on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018. Public viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the family will receive visitors at 10:00, with funeral service to follow at 11:00. Interment is at Fairview Cemetery, Frederick.
