Latonya Darlene (Jackson) Ames was born on October 31, 1963 in Washington,\nD.C. to the late Jessie J. Adam and Eliza (Lisa) L. Jackson. She was the oldest of five\nchildren. On December 11th, 2023 the Lord saw fit to call His servant home. \n\nLatonya was a product of the Prince Georges County School System where she graduated from Fairmont Heights High School in 1992, then went on to earn her Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Prince Georges Community College.\n\nShe gave her life to Christ at a young age at St. Margaret Catholic Church. She was a member of Thomas Tabernacle Holiness Church in Frederick, MD serving on the Deacon, Missionary and Minister ministries. She later joined Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Adamstown, MD.\n\nLaTonya enjoyed ballet, hand-dancing, roller skating and spending time with family. She was a member of the roller skating club, R and B Rollers.\n\nShe leaves to cherish her memories her: loving husband, Robert Ames; stepdaughters, Latashia Carswell and Leshia "Lovey" Ames; stepsons, Tyrone Holland and Robert T. Ames; mother, Lisa Jackson; stepfather, Maurice Jackson; brothers, Keith Jackson and Tyrone Jackson; sisters, Crystal Jackson, Mautrice Jackson, Valinda, Bonita, Cheryl and Courtney; uncles, Richard Lyon, Joseph Hebron (Mary), and Ronnie Lyon (Cheri); aunts, Irene Lyon and Carolyn Lyon; brother-in-law, David Rollins (Sandy); sister-in-law, Norma Rodafox; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her sister Sonseeahray "Ray" Adams.\n\nLaTonya will be greatly missed.\n\nMother’s Prayer\n\nLord, I come to you with a heavy heart, mourning the loss of my beloved\nchild. I ask for your grace and mercy to ease my pain and comfort my\nbroken heart. Help me remember my child with love and joy and never forget\nher impact in my life. Give me the strength to honor her memory and cherish\nour time together. Help me to find peace and solace in my pain, and to turn my\nsadness to joy by remembering the beauty of my child. We know she is with\nyou now, and that she will remain in my heart.
