Margaretta Weedon, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2020, after a brief illness. Margaretta was born June 27, 1935 in Lime Kiln, MD to the late Charles Ambush and Bessie Harman Ambush.
Margaretta graduated from Lincoln High School and then went off to work in the restaurant business. Cooking became a passion of hers so much so that she opened her own restaurant called "Harley's." After retiring she became a caretaker. She was so passionate about helping others, especially her family and friends. As she got older, she found delight in playing her numbers; it was a hobby of hers. Charles Town was her favorite place to go and enjoy herself with her dear friends, Myrtle and Judy. Margaretta enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a beautiful, breathtaking smile on her face. She could not keep still and loved to travel with another dear friend of hers, Keonapha (Gail) Kenawell. Margaretta was loved by so many people that gravitated towards her welcoming spirit. She was an amazing mother, the best aunt to all her nieces and nephews, and the very best grandmother and great grandmother.
Margaretta is survived by: her sons, Kevin (Sinclair) Ambush (Carol), Darnell (Jimmy) Weedon and Anthony Michael Weedon; daughters, April Weedon (Rudy) and Kelly Ambush; siblings, Edna (Fats) Weedon, Meryl Ambush, Mary Frances Ambush, and Eugene (PeeWee) Ambush; grandchildren, Corey Weedon, Mark Weedon (Kay) and Shar'dae Randolph; and nine great-grandchildren, Alize, Thyriee, Anthony, Zyris, Alina, Mark, Edgar, and Markaylee Weedon, and Ge'Layiah Mccullum.
In addition to her parents, Margaretta was preceded in death by: her brothers, Charles "Pud" Ambush, James Ambush, Edward "Joe" Ambush, and Bernard "Little Bits" Ambush; sisters, Betty Jane Thomas and Dorothy Ambush; and her loving daughter, Donna Clark.
