Marguerite "Rite Rite" E. Sewell

Marguerite "Rite Rite" Elizabeth Sewell, 84, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Julia Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on February 23, 1942, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dennis and Emmanora Sewell.

Marguerite dedicated most of her career to working as a live-in nanny and providing domestic services. Caring for children was her true passion, and she was widely known as a mother figure to everyone she met.

She leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Kumiko Sewell-King (Harold), Nicole Plummer, James "JL" Plummer (Honni), and Martin Plummer (Crystal). She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren: Mattea Green (Allen), Nikita King, Sean Sewell, Saige'l Prather (Jesska), Carlos Larios, Makiya Plummer, Aubrey Dlouby, Mikayla Plummer, Kaydance Plummer, Olivia Plummer, Juliana Plummer, Kendall Plummer, Daevian Plummer, and Octaevia Plummer; eight great-grandchildren, Jalaya Feigley, Jermiah Feigley, Myla Miller, Raiyven Noble, Laila Green, Kehlani Plummer, RJ Sewell, Jazmyn Merricks; sisters, Rebecca Green, Delores King (Charles), Patsy Weedon, and Connie Davis (Gary); brothers, Dennis Sewell Jr. (Vera), Funston Sewell (Erma), Sherman Sewell (Betty), and Sheridan Sewell; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Floyd "Candyman" Stevenson Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Emmanora Sewell. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
