Mazie Lee Hill Obituary (1926

Mazie Lee Hill (Sis) was born on Jan. 31, 1926, to the late Curtis E. and Grace M. Lee of Hopehill, MD.She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944.During her lifetime, she was employed by The Sewing School, OxFibre Brush and Microbiological Associates.She was a member of the Hopehill United Methodist Church.She married the late Harry H. Hill, Jr., on Dec. 23, 1957. God visited Walkersville, MD, on June 20, 2013, at 8 p.m. and Mazie responded by joining Him.She will now be in God's Heavenly Throng along with her husband, parents, brother, John C. Lee, two nieces, Cynthia 'Snootzie' Lee and Althea 'Linda' Rivera, and several aunts and uncles. She leaves to cherish her memory: nine children, Darlene Lee-Hill of Charlottesville, VA, Ronnelle Wars (Leak) of Frederick, MD, Bonnita Hill of Charlottesville, VA, Randi Hill of Walkersville, MD, Grace Threadgill (Darien) of Malvern, PA, Leslie Hill of Frederick, MD, Harry Hill III (Angela) of Denver, CO, Dana Hill of Clinton, MD, and Shoun Hill (Debra) of New York, NY; four grandchildren, Nicole Wars, Nicolas Wars, Brian Threadgill (Tiana), and Melissa Threadgill; three great grandchildren, Nina Wars, Taryn Threadgill, and Jocelyn Threadgill; two sisters, Ruth Jackson of Hagerstown, MD, and Ella Mason of Frederick, MD; one brother, Garland Brown (Janice); one sister-in-law, Fay Lee;one brother-in-law, Thomas Hill Sr.; three aunts, Helen and Vallie Lee of Frederick, MD, and Charlotte Gardner of Washington, DC; a host of devoted nieces, nephews (especially the ones she babysat), very devoted son-in-law, Edward 'Leak' Wars, the Cosley children (who were embraced as her nieces and nephews), cousins, and other relatives.Also cherishing her memory are four very special friends: Connie Whims (also her devoted caregiver), Phoebe Dorsey, Ann Staley, and Terri Frawley.Special thanks goes to Hospice of Frederick County and to her devoted nurse, Geoff Littrell. Funeral services for Mrs. Hill will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Hopehill United Methodist Church, 7647 Fingerboard Rd., Frederick.The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. and services will begin at 11 a.m.Pastor Erma Dyson will preside.Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
