Mr. Tabi Enow-egbe, Moses Baiyee alias "Pokish", 48, resident of Silver Spring, Maryland transcended into the New World, on Saturday, the 29th of September 2018 at Redtop in Tacoma Park, with cause of death unknown.
Pokish was born of His Royal Highness Chief C. Tabi Baiyee and Mama Lucy Bechem Mfawmor on May 4th, 1970 in Tali I, upper Banyang Sub-Division, and Manyu Division in Cameroon. Of the three remaining children out of the twelve from the late Mama Bechem, he was the youngest.
He did elementary studies in Kumba and Mamfe Government primary schools.
In the old days when Men in Banyang community were measured by their physical might, Pokish, as his elder brother the late Chief Simon Orock Baiyee was counted as one who inherited this prowess from their father, the King of Tali I.
After completing his elementary school education, he moved from the village to Kumba Township where he became famous in thwarting mischievous acts planned at nights by bandits in the streets of Kumba, something the Police and Security forces were unable to accomplish. This won him a Prize-Fighter award by the Police and City administrators. This gift became a service offered to the government as a source of his income. He became the most popular heavy weight lifting champion of Southwest region of Cameroon.
Pokish proudly associated himself with family members (Baiyeembi from the Father's side and Mfawmor Bechem from the Mother's side, from Tanyibantiri of Takwai) for his livelihood. That is why he came to the United States of America in search for greener pastures.
He was a deep believer of the doctrines of the Church of Latter Day Saints and was baptized at the Third Ward of the Washington, DC Chapter, on March 31st 2013.
Pokish has been very loved by the Cameroonian community at Redtop in Tacoma Park. Pokish left behind two children and a very large family to mourn him, including his elder siblings, sister Clara Mforta Baiyee in United Kingdom and Larry Baiyee in Paris.
