Raymond L. Brooks of Frederick, MD, passed away on February 27, 2018 at his home with his beloved wife and family by his side. Raymond was born February 8, 1949, in Bartsonsville, MD to the late William L. Brooks, Sr. and Hope E. West-Sharpe.\n\nRaymond grew up attending Jackson United Methodist Church in Bartonsville, MD, he also served on the Usher Board. Raymond also proudly served in Co A, 1-115th INF National Guard for 22 years and was employed with Lafarge North America for 25 years. In addition to his family, he adored his dogs, Baxter, Sammie, and Smokie.\n\nRaymond is survived by his beloved wife, Justine "Tina" Smith-Brooks; four sons, Raymond Jr., Anthony (Pam), Randy Brooks, and Christopher Henderson; one daughter, Annette Jackson (Theron); 18 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; six brothers, William Brooks and Zeno Onley of Hagerstown, MD, Tyrus Onley (Evelyn), Lynn and Donald Brooks of Frederick, MD; two sisters, Nannie Brooks (Phil), Adrianne Bell (Ruzie); Mother-in-law, Carol Smith; devoted cousins, Shelby Brooks-Byrd, Tracy Brooks-Naylor (Wayne); and a host of nieces and nephews. Raymond will also be remembered by many friends, especially, Daniel Hawkins, Jr., Rob Elkins, and nephew, Travis Smith.\n\nIn addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by four brothers, Dane and William "Pee Wee" Brooks, Rev. Charles and Stanley Onley; two sisters, Ternesessia "Susie" Brooks and Vivian Brooks-Brown; four aunts, Elizabeth Brooks, Margaret Watts, Rebecca Weedon, and Jane Ross; five uncles, Carl Brooks, Byron Ross, Robert Weedon, Sr., Robert Brooks and David Watts.\n \nIn lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Frederick County and the American Cancer Society.
