Ronnelle Hill Wars Obituary (1951

Ronnelle Elizabeth Hill Wars, known to most as Lovie, age 66, passed away on July 11, 2018 at her home in Frederick, MD. She was born on September 10, 1951, to the late Harry Herman Hill, Jr. and the late Mazie Lee Hill. She graduated from Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in 1969, and later received her Associates of Arts degree in Business Administration from Frederick Community College. She started her working career at Gilbert's, followed by State Farm Insurance Company for 12 years, a Liaison at North Frederick Elementary School, and eventually joined CitiMortgage, where she retired from in 2013. Lovie is survived by: her husband of almost 43 years, Edward Leakins Wars, known to most as Leak. They had two children, Nicole Wars, and Nicholas Wars, and one grandchild, Nina Wars (Nicole). Lovie is also survived by: her siblings, Darlene Lee-Hill, Bonnita Hill, Randi Hill, Grace Threadgill (husband Darien Threadgill), Leslie Hill, Harry Hill III (wife Angie Hill), Dana Hill, and Shoun Hill (wife Debra Walton-Hill); her nephew, Brian Threadgill (wife Tiana Threadgill) and their two daughters, Taryn Threadgill and Jocelyn Threadgill; her niece, Melissa Threadgill; her aunt Ella Mason (husband Rev. Sherman Mason - deceased); her uncle Garland Brown (wife Janice Brown); a host of cousins, the Wars family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by: her uncle, John Lee (wife Faye Lee - living); her uncle, Thomas D. Hill Sr. (wife Margaret Hill - deceased); and her aunt, Ruth Jackson (husband Charles "Slickey" Jackson - deceased). She was a lifelong member of Hopehill United Methodist Church, where she was baptized, married, and now laid to rest. She was a faithful and devoted associate member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church. Along with being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, gardening, bowling, going on cruises, and being a member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed the time she shared with her friends performing dance aerobics at the William O. Talley Recreation Center and at the Department of Aging. Also, a special thanks to her devoted friend, Sandi Young, along with Sandi's mother and sisters, for the long-lasting friendships they shared. Lovie had one of the most gentle and kindest souls, with a beautiful smile that would brighten any mood. She always had a warm, open heart to embrace everyone like her own family. She will be greatly missed, but her persevering and compassionate spirit will continue to live on forever around all of us. We love you. A wake will be held at the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 West South St., Frederick, MD on Thur., July 26 from 4-8 PM. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be Fri., July 27 at 11 AM at Hopehill United Methodist Church, 7647 Fingerboard Rd, with Family Hour at 10 AM.
