Mrs. Rose Mary Scott, 86, of Frederick, MD,went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 20th at Citizens Nursing Home in Frederick,MD.She was born in Frederick and was the daughter of the late Samuel Murdock and Rose Elizabeth Matthews. She was the wife of the late William Franklin Scott. \r\rSurviving are 8 children:Joyce Scott, William 'Bill' Scott, and Gloria Lyles, all of Frederick, Ellen Tubya (Rico) of Baltimore, Elder Richard Scott (Pastor Charlotte) of Frederick, Clifford 'Cliff' Scott (Rebecca) of PA, Deborah 'Debbie' Scott of GA, and John Scott of Frederick; 25 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren;6 great great grandchildren; 3 sister-in-laws:Mamie Weedonof Brunswick, Edna Vaughn of Baltimore, and Mable Scott of Frederick; and devoted friends, Alice Smith, Theresa Ambush, Sarah Thompson, Diane Mahammitt and Charles Diggs.Her devoted granddaughter Gloria Lyles was faithful in the care of her 'granny' for years.\r\rIn addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, James 'Jim' Scott.\r\rShe was employed by Sagner Manufacturing Company and later Hood College from where she retired. She was a member of Quinn Chapel AME Church since 1939.She served faithfully as an Usher for several years and was also the president of the Senior Usher of Board. Ms. Rosie loved the Lord and would carry all her children to Sunday School and church every Sunday. Ms. Rosie was a devoted mother and grandmother who was very firm in authority, yet fun and very loving.She was a strong woman of the Lord with a sweet spirit who will be greatly missed.\r\rFriends may call at Gary Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W South Street, Frederick, MD on Thurs., Sept. 27th from 2 to 8 p.m.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm.Funeral services will be held on Fri., Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Quinn Chapel AME Church, 108 E Third St, Frederick, MD.
