Sheila Michelle Bowins

Ms. Sheila Michelle "Mich" Bowins, 59, of Frederick, MD, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 21, 2022, at Frederick Health Hospital. Born April 18, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Mary Madeleine Bowins and the late Richard Jackson. She was also, the beloved adopted daughter of the late Charlotte Elizabeth Smallwood (Aunt) and Sylvester "Sunny" Jackson. She was a 1982 graduate of Frederick High School. She worked at the American Legion, loved to play BINGO and dance to her favorite music.

Surviving are her: two sons, Shayne Bowins (Erica) and Jason Lyles (Nicole) of Frederick; two daughters, Sheena and Charvon Diggs of Frederick; two brothers, Ernest Thompson (Tonya) and Giles Jackson of Frederick; sister, Kia Jackson of Frederick; god-brother, Bruce Thompson of Frederick; two god-sisters, Delores Carrol of Pennsylvania, and Shawnee (Ne-Ne) Luby of Frederick; nephew, Ernest Thompson III of Frederick; niece, Ahava Thomas of Frederick; two grandsons, Xavion Diggs and Kalik Harris of Frederick; five granddaughters, Kayli Victoria Bowins, Brianna Michelle Bowins, Nia Elizabeth Bowins, Sanaii Norteus, and Karmia Lyles; uncles, John T. Bowins and Stewart Smallwood; special friend/cousin, Yvette Jones; friends, Monica Hargrow (Papoose), Crystal Dotson and Jackie White; and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her: grandparents, Ralph Lynwood Bowins and Rachel Caroline Bowins; aunts, Maybel M.E. Bowie, Margaret G. Bowins, Bertha C. Ziegler, Frances L. Thompson, Thelma V. Brown, and Nancy L. Bowins; uncles, Sunny Brown, Clarence (Jumpsteady) Thompson, and Harvey Ziegler; and numerous great aunts and uncles.
