Sherree Elizabeth Redman Obituary (1935

Mrs. Sherree E. Stanton Redman was peaceably called home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2013, at 5:10 a.m. at Vindobona Nursing Home in Braddock Heights, MD. Born on September 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Oliver W. Whiten, Sr. and Elizabeth Walker Whiten DeLauder. Sherree was educated in the Frederick County Public School System, graduating from Lincoln High School, class of 1953. She was a retired food service supervisor and enjoyed the art of cooking. She was a member of Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church where she had served in various ministries. Sherree is survived by: six children, Barbara Parrish (David), Charles E. Stanton, Jr. (Theresa) of Frederick, Lynn W. Stanton of Charlotte, NC, Chantay Stanton Corbin of Frederick, Walker P. Stanton (Paula) of Belcamp, MD, and Chet R. Stanton (Reka) of Millersville, MD; eight grandchildren, Gregory J. Thomas, Jr., Captain Johnathan N. Carter (Rachel), Charles E. Stanton, III (Katie), Dionna S., April R., Elyjah, Elisha, and Nia Stanton; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Dr. William B. DeLauder (Vermell) of Bear, DE; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara D. Butler of Salisbury, MD and Ms. Delores DeLauder of Frederick, MD; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends. In addition to her loved ones and parents, Sherree was preceded in death by her: late husband Peter L. Redman, former husband Charles E. Stanton, Sr.; brother, Oliver W. Whiten, Jr.; granddaughter, Karah C. Corbin; and brother-in-law, JS Butler. A celebration of the life of Sherree will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Jackson Chapel UMC, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD at 12 Noon. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church. The family will arrive at 11:00 a.m. with her Pastor, Rex R. Bowens, Sr. officiating.
