Sylvia Marie Parker (Arrington)

–

Essex, Maryland

Sylvia M. Parker (Arrington), 57, affectionately known as “Redz” and “Ms. Parker” passed away on August 12, 2026. Born November 12, 1968, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of Joseph Parker Jr.
and Ellen (Scott) Tubaya.

Sylvia was raised and educated in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Baltimore County, and Frederick County school systems and was a proud graduate of Frederick High School. Following high school, she continued her education in Medical Billing and Coding, which led to employment with M&RR. Throughout her life, Sylvia demonstrated a strong work ethic and dedication in every position she held. She later transitioned into management and supervisory roles for several fast-food establishments, where her leadership and hardworking nature were evident.

Above all else, Sylvia was passionate about her family. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. She was also a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan, a tradition and love she carried on in honor of her late daughter Queshia.

She loved making people laugh and was always at the center of both families. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties and cookouts. Although she took many twists and turns in life, she always found her way back. Throughout her life, even when she knew you were upset with her, she always reached out to say she was "okay." Her journey was often bumpy, filled with challenges some of which we may never fully understand, but in the end, she found happiness with her husband, Joe Arrington, affectionately known as "Joe Lewis."

Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tonieka Parker, Kierra Warfield, Malique Worthington,
and Devonte Warfield; her mother, Ellen (Scott) Tubaya; eight grandchildren; two stepchildren; five brothers; six sisters; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was blessed to have the love and support of Joanne Parker, who held a
special and meaningful place in her life as a dedicated and loving mother figure, as well as her stepfather,
Federico Tubaya, aunt and uncle Clifford & Rebecca Scott.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Parker, Jr.; beloved daughter, Queshia Taylor; husband, Joe Arrington; and brother, David Scott.

Sylvia will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her love for her family, her dedication to those she cared about, and the special impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will
forever live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
