Mr. Thomas Maurice Anderson Sr., better known as "Stoney," peacefully departed this life on Tuesday January 7, 2020 at home surrounded by family and friends. He grew up in Sandy Spring, Maryland and attended Montgomery County's Public Schools (MCPS) where he excelled in sports. \r\n\r\nLater in life he worked for Maryland State Highway Administration and Montgomery County Public Schools. Stoney loved his job at MCPS where his big personality filled the hallways. He was loved by everyone: children, parents and staff. He was also proud of the fact that the school was located across the street from the Chicken Basket; it was the icing on the cake. \r\n\r\nStoney was a diehard Dallas Cowboys' fan, watched ESPN constantly and was always waiting for his Cowboys to come on. Stoney also loved to cook! He was known worldwide (maybe Montgomery County) for his fried chicken and "Stoney burgers" \r\n\r\nStoney leaves to cherish his memory his: mother, Pearl Lucille Anderson; four children, Ciara, Nikkea, Thomas Jr., and Alexia; two brothers, David Anderson and Richie Anderson; sister-in-law, Jessica Anderson; sister, Monica Anderson; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Anderson.
