Tyra Bastian

Tyra LaShawn Bastian, 35, passed away after a short illness on August 9, 2024 with her parents by her side. She was born August 29, 1988 in Uniontown, PA to Vernon Bastian, Jr. and Joan Pratt Bastian.

Tyra graduated from Tuscarora High School, Frederick, MD in 2006. She was a homemaker and a very talented cook and creator. She loved to read, gardening, watch CNN, politics, and debate the realness of life. Tyra was very funny and loved to joke around with a straight face. She loved everything about her family even though she may not have always agreed with them.

Leaving to mourn her: parents, Vernon Bastian, Jr. and Joan Pratt Bastian of Frederick, MD; children, Menjou “Juju”, Milah, and Vayda all of Frederick, MD; brother, Vernon “Frankie” Bastian III of Martinsburg, WV; grandparents, Joan and Edwin Tracy of Uniontown, PA; nephew, Trenell “Tre” of Frederick, MD; niece, Ayla of Martinsburg, WV; special cousin, Brittany Harris of Hagerstown, MD; special friends, Donavan “Dunn”, Jose “Pieto”, and JB; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, maternal uncles, and maternal cousins/best friends.
