William Edward Campbell, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on February 18, 2021 in Frederick, Maryland. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to his parents, the late William E. Campbell, Sr. and Beatrice Ellington Campbell.\r\n \r\nBill received his education at Booker T. Washington High School (GA). He later graduated from Clark University (GA) with a Bachelor's degree and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Master of Science degree. He was a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.\r\n \r\nA devoted husband and father, he married Clipertina Thompson in 1961 and they had one daughter, Melanie. Bill particularly enjoyed his special visits with grandson, Malcolm.\r\n\r\nIn 1956, Bill served in the United States Army at Ft. Detrick where he worked as a Biology Technician. After working many years in the federal government as a Microbiologist, Bill retired from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1990. He will always be remembered for the expert and careful way in which he tended to his lawn and garden and captured many family milestones because of his love of photography.\r\n \r\nBill was preceded in death by his wife, Clipertina Campbell; sisters, Mary Alice and Marie Campbell and brothers, Richard, Adholphus and John Campbell.\r\n\r\nBill is survived by his loving daughter, Melanie Albright (Plantation, FL), grandson, Malcolm Albright (Frederick, MD); sisters Elizabeth Mason (Chicago, IL), Barbara Bridges, Frances Brown both of Atlanta, GA; brothers Paul (Carol) and James (Ruby) Campbell both of Atlanta, GA, sister-in-law Anna Powell (William), Rockville, MD; devoted friends Arnold and Marylin Ambush and a host of relatives and friends.
